This month, three lucky readers have the chance to win a copy of stellar war-movie Their Finest.
The year is 1940. London is enduring the Blitz. With the country’s morale at stake, inexperienced screenwriter Catrin (Gemma Arterton) and a makeshift cast and crew work under fire to produce a film to lift the country’s flagging spirits and inspire America to join the war.
Capturing the spirit of a nation at war, irresistible British comedy drama Their Finest tells the story of one woman who must navigate the complexities of movie production, the stiff upper lips of government, and her own romantic entanglements.
In partnership with fellow screenwriter Buckley (Sam Claflin), Catrin sets off to make a film that will warm the hearts of the nation while navigating the constant threat of the Blitz, limited resources, and the demands of gloriously egotistical actor, Ambrose Hilliard (Bill Nighy).
Based on the novel Their Finest Hour and a Half by Lissa Evans, Their Finest is brought to the screen with aplomb by acclaimed director Lone Scherfig and the Oscar-nominated producers of Brooklyn and Carol. It is a witty, engaging, and powerful portrayal of a young woman finding her voice amid the mayhem of war.
Their Finest is available on digital platforms from 14 August 2017, and on Blu-ray and DVD from 21 August 2017.
