Scone Palace will remember King Robert the Bruce by hosting a ‘History and Heritage’ day on Sunday 28 August in the palace’s grounds and gardens.
The Strathleven Artizans, a Scottish historical group, will lead a day of activities, including dramatisations of Robert the Bruce being crowned King of Scotland, and some dramatic battle re-enactments for visitors to experience at close quarters.
Visitors will also be able to join in the fun with costumes for both children and adults to try on, and weapons demonstrations will run throughout the day.
One of Scotland’s most popular tribal bands, Clann An Drumma, will be performing their unique drum-based music, and British axe-throwing champions will also be demonstrating their sport for spectators to enjoy.
Children will also be able to decorate toy swords at workshops.
Tickets are £6.70 for adults, £6.00 for concessions, £4.80 for children aged between 4 and 16 years, and family passes (for two adults and up to three children) are £23. Scone Palace season ticket members can enjoy this event free of charge.
