The Normandy Tank Museum is shutting down and will sell its entire collection of tanks, armoured vehicles, and Second World War memorabilia at auction next month.
The museum is closing its doors due to poor visitor numbers. It is situated on a Second World War airfield used by the Allies during the Battle of Normandy.
More than 40 armoured vehicles and other wartime artefacts will go under the hammer, some of which were used on D-Day.
All the items, including a US Army M24 Chaffee, an M7 Priest, and even an M4 Sherman, will be sold on 18 September in the town of Catz, not far from Utah Beach.
The Tank Museum first opened its doors in 2013, displaying the private collection of founder Patrick Nerrant, who started buying armoured vehicles in the 1980s.
